You love your child dearly.
Yet, nobody can frustrate you as he does. You feel like a broken record, saying the same things over and over and over. You have tried everything, yet nothing seems to click with him. You ask him to do something, and he forgets or begins but never finishes. It is exhausting.
Are you wondering why your child is constantly moving? Even when she is sitting still, she is fidgeting. Her teachers all say the same thing, “She is a sweet girl, but she can’t stay in her seat,” OR “She seems to be daydreaming all the time and has a hard time focusing.”
At times, he can do the kindest, sweetest things. But when he becomes angry, he is like a completely different child. He gets pretty heated, and sometimes he even throws things. Afterward, his tantrum ends in tears. When he cannot get something right the first time, he loses patience, pouts, and says things like, “I am so stupid.” “Everybody hates me.” He really works himself up. It makes you feel helpless.
As a parent, you may have searched for answers. But the information is often overwhelming and confusing. You want support, but you are not sure where to turn.
A Parent Coach can help you figure out the missing pieces…
… to answer the questions you have about what is going on with your child.
A Parent Coach provides you with education, tools, strategies, and support that will help your child experience more success and you experience more PEACE.
I love helping Parents and Children succeed together. There is nothing in the world stronger than the bond between parent and child.
As your Personal Parent Coach, I will help you decipher what your child is communicating through his or her behavior. Understanding where your child is with his emotional and intellectual development is key to deciphering the motives behind the behavior. As your Parent Coach, I will give ongoing information and feedback (both verbal and written) about the basics of normal child development. Expanded understanding provides relief and opportunities to exchange old, ineffective parenting habits for habits that will work and improve the health of the parent-child relationship.
You can expect most of our sessions to be together without your child. Parent Coaching ranges between 12-15 sessions depending upon the severity of the issues with the parent-child relationship. You can count on 3-4 sessions that will include both parent and child. Frequently, the parent-child sessions will be centered around an activity that will keep the child (children) engaged and allow parents to show what they know because of their one-on-one training sessions with their Coach. That may look like a fun game of Jenga, baking Playdoh cookies, putting a giant floor puzzle together, or painting.
I will help you understand your parenting style by using assessments and fun video quizzes, improving communication by introducing strategies and implementing role plays, and creating an environment responsive to your child’s unique needs.
Experience more peace with your child now.
Parents often avoid seeking help in raising their children because they do not want to be labeled “bad parents.”
Or they want their children to be “fixed” and completely ignore the fact that most of the time, it is the interaction between parent and child that creates the lethal relationship cocktail.
Here’s the real tea! Seeking support makes you wise. Seeking support sooner rather than later makes you wise and proactive!
Understanding that your child is positively or negatively affected by what they see and how you interact can be your “Superpower”!
Take it from a mother of three children (two adults and one teen); the time with your children goes by so quickly. It’s as if one minute they are taking their first step, and the next minute they are backing out of your driveway. How do you want those precious moments spent in power struggles or peace?
